NAB(E&T)-Manesar is carrying out a plantation drive at the KM 24 Toll Plaza on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway along with DSC Limited, one of India’s leading infrastructure companies. This unique initiative was initiated with a vision to spread awareness on a clean and a green environment. NAB (E&T)-Manesar along with DSC Limited emphasizes the importance of growing trees and planting saplings near the toll plaza which was then followed by distributing saplings to the commuters of the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway.
To mark the occasion, more than 500 students from leading schools were also present during the plantation drive and enthusiastically planted saplings along the toll plaza. By inviting children to the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway in this drive, the message to the future generation on the importance of conserving, protecting and sustaining our planet was reinforced . The plantation started from the KM 24 toll plaza and was also carried out at IGI toll plaza, Rao Tula Marg, Mahipalpur, KM 42 toll plaza, Jharsa Chowk, Rajeev Chowk and Iffco Chowk.
Speaking on the occasion Mrs Usha Mishra, Managing Trustee, National Association for the Blind (Employment &Training) Manesar said, Project Vriksha’s main aim is to sensitize the citizens about the need to protect the environment. Thousands of saplings have been distributed and planted in a short span of time and we are overwhelmed by the response and support from one and all. We would want people to be aware how a small step like planting a sapling can bring a positive change in our environment. She further observed that advent of technology has brought in new job avenues to all sections of the society specially the visually impaired. Computerization and hi-tech jobs have opened source of livelihood to the visually handicapped as never before. This is unique, and large employment sector where both livelihood and knowledge is available to all. It transcends the barriers of physical handicap. She therefore urged the government, corporate sector and international organizations to think afresh and offer jobs support for them. NAB (E&T) Manesar shall coordinate their support to see that the blind, benefit from their cooperation.
Further, she profusely thanked Green Ply Industries, Canon India and Diakin Air conditioners for their support .Leela Hotel’s contribution was noteworthy. Contribution of Forest department of Delhi and Gurgaon was highlighted.

I would also like to congratulate every individual who has participated in “VRIKSHA 2011” plantation drive and thus has contributed to reduce the carbon footprints. On this occasion of environmental importance VIPs, Corporate Heads, Senior Govt. officials along with the team of DSC Limited and National Association for the Blind (Employment &Training) Manesar, were present showing a lot of enthusiasm and zest during the entire activity.
